Tipperary County Council has confirmed plans are underway to develop a better county-wide response for a future snow event like we had this month.
Local authority staff salted a network of nearly 1,200 kilometres several times daily and other outdoor staff did their best to clear footpaths in the major town centres.

But many estates and isolated communities felt they were left to their own devices for the week of icy conditions.
Director of Services Sharon Kennedy says the council is committed to developing a plan to involve more farmers, contractors and community groups next time it happens.
