Three AK47 assault rifles were found in a car on the N2 in Slane yesterday.
Detectives also arrested a 39-year-old man at the scene and are continuing to question him today.

It's not known if the weapons seizure was linked to yesterday's 12 property searches by the Criminal Assets Bureau in Dublin, which included private homes, accounts and solicitor’s offices as well as a car dealership.
Special Correspondent with the Irish Independent, Paul Williams, says security on the homes was high.
