As water levels in the River Suir in Clonmel dropped overnight, Council officials are hoping that the towns flood defences won't be tested any further.
However with rain returning following a brief lull they will be monitoring the situation closely over the weekend.

The multi-million Euro flood defence system has so far withstood water levels which exceeded those of the last major flood event in 2009.
