In one of their more unusual call-outs, members of the South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association (SEMRA) were tasked with rescuing a sheepdog over the weekend.
Ruby had become stuck on a ledge in the Comeragh Mountains, overlooking the beautiful Coumshingaun.
She had been rounding up sheep when she found herself stuck.
Pat McCabe – who has been involved in mountain rescue for 23 years – was one of those involved in the operation.
He says the fact there was no one on the mountain due to the Covid-19 restrictions made it a special occasion in beautiful scenery.
However he said they’re trained for this and don’t take risks that they can’t manage.
