Tipperary County Council has been advised by the ESB and Met Éireann that over 30 millimetres of rain is forecast for the region in the next five days which will further raise the levels in Lough Derg and the Shannon Catchment area.

North Tipperary will be affected from Portumna down to Ballina and further south to Nenagh.

The ESB is to release waters from Parteen Weir which could lead to flooding of local roads and affect property.

District Director for the Nenagh Municipal District Marcus O'Connor says it's highly likely roads and lands will be flooded as a result.
