Tipperary's Government representatives have been accused of doing nothing to try to create jobs in some parts of the county.

Latest figures from the Central Statistics Office showed that an additional 300 people joined the dole queues in Tipperary in December – the first rise in 7 months.

One Tipp town councillor says that the town is being decimated by a lack of employment; last month 53 people joined the live register in the town.

Independent representative Denis Leahy has criticised Junior Government Minister and local TD Tom Hayes has failed to bring new jobs to the town.

However Minister Hayes has outlined a number of positive developments

He points to the creation of 25 jobs by Pinergy on the Rossmore Complex on the Dundrum Road while he is also expecting developments on the Technology Park in the town in the coming year.
