Vulture funds the latest threat to rural life

Vulture funds are the latest threat to rural farms and land according to the Tipperary leader of the Renua party.

John Leahy claims that vulture fund repossession actions increased by more than 200% in the last year.

He believes that the 885 repossession actions taken in 2017 are only the beginning of what will be a sustained attack on small rural farmers.

The party is urging the Government to legislate for this and are urging against fire sales and quick fixes, which may be effective for urban areas but are immensely sensitive for family farms.
