Leo Varadkar looks most likely to take over from Enda Kenny as the next leader of Fine Gael.

A poll in today's Irish Times shows he has a 31 per cent approval rating with the public – 10 points ahead of his nearest rival, the Housing Minister Simon Coveney.

The other contenders, in descending order, are Frances Fitzgerald, Simon Harris and Paschal Donohoe.
