Leo Varadkar has hinted that he would support Michael D Higgins in re-running for President – if he decides to seek a second term.
The Taoiseach has paid tribute to the current commander-in-chief, saying he has been a great source of advice.

President Higgins’ term is due to lapse in November of next year, and he’s yet to say if he’ll got again.
Asked if he would support a possible bid by Enda Kenny, Varadkar suggested it depended on the incumbent.
