There is an urgent appeal for blood doners within Tipperary to give blood today.
A blood donation clinic will be set up this evening in The Dome In Thurles due to a pe-amber alert regarding low blood stocks.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Services are putting on extra blood donation clinics locally throughout the week.
This comes after a Pre-Amber Alert was issued to all Irish Hospitals due to low blood stocks.
Health services are currently being asked to reduce their stock holding which enables the IBTS to manage the limited blood supply available more effectively across the country.
IBTS Director of Donor Services and Logistics, Paul McKinney says a consistently strong hospital demand for blood and the start of summer travel has had an impact on donor availability.
A clinic in the Dome at Semple Stadium will be running today from 4.50pm to ten past eight.
New donors are asked to phone ahead for an appointment while existing donors can pre-book online.
