The Defence Forces left the barrack 18 months ago – since then a number of tenants have expressed an interest in moving there.

Among them Clonmel Garda Station, Limerick Institute of Technology and the VEC.

South Tipperary County Council is the coordinating party for the development of the site on the Davis Road.

Fine Gael Councillor Michael Murphy intends raising the issue with the County Manager at next weeks meeting of the local authority.
