Unlawful killing verdict in Chada inquest.

An inquest into the death of two young boys in County Mayo has returned a verdict of unlawful killing.

Eoghan and Ruairi Chada were murdered by their father outside Castlebar in July 2013

Witness statements from 16 people were heard during the course of the inquest, which began this morning.

The boys aged ten and five, were murdered by their father Sanjeev outside Castlebar in July 2013.

He pleaded guilty to the murders at the Central Criminal Court last month and is serving a life sentence.

The boys' mother, Kathleen attended the proceedings at the Coroner's Court in Castlebar.

Having heard the evidence Mayo County Coroner John O'Dwyer said unlawful killing was the only verdict which could be given.
