Unions seek clarification from new owners on Procter & Gamble jobs

Over 200 staff at the factory were called to a meeting with management yesterday afternoon and informed that the beauty business has been sold to US cosmetic company Coty for $12.5 billion.

Workers were told they would remain Procter and Gamble employees until the end of 2016, when the deal is finalised, at which point they will become Coty employees – however there are concerns about the factory's future after that.

Speaking to Tipp FM, SIPTU representative at the Nenagh plant Liam Sheehy hoped there will be no more cuts saying they had already had 23 job losses at the Nenagh plant in the last two months.
