UK phone hacking sentences handed down.

Andy Coulson – who also previously served as Prime Minister David Cameron's Communications Director  – was told he must share a major part of the blame.

The sentencing judge told the Old Bailey that Coulson “knew about hacking and encouraged it when he should have stopped it”.

Former chief reporter Neville Thurlbeck and news editor Greg Miskiw were both jailed for six months – while Glenn Mulcaire, the former private investigator tasked with hacking, was given a 6 month suspended sentence.
