The crew launched shortly before 5 o'clock when they were alerted that the 24 foot vessel had broken down and was drifting across the lake.
The cruiser was being pushed up river towards Portumna Bridge by the wind – another vessel had attempted to assist but their tow line had broken.

The RNLI towed the stricken cruiser to the safety of Terryglass harbour.
