Gardai have dealt a significant blow to the illegal drugs trade in the Tipperary area.
Gardai from Clonmel backed up by the Regional Support Unit stopped a car at Darcy's Cross near Clerihan on the Clonmel – Cashel road at around 5 o'clock last evening.
They recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of €240,000.
Two Clonmel men in their 40's were arrested – they are presently being held at Clonmel Garda station under the Drug Trafficking Act where they can be detained for up to seven days.
