Two men have been remanded in custody after appearing in court in Nenagh today charged with multiple counts of burglary and other offences.
Three men were arrested as part of a series of raids by Gardai from four local stations on Tuesday.
They were targeting an organised crime gang suspected of being involved in a number of thefts and burglaries across the Tipperary Division between January 2023 to March last year.
Two of them appeared before Nenagh District court today.
42-year-old Thomas O’Donoghue of 44 Summercove Meadows, Old road, Cashel was charged with four counts of burglary, four counts of theft and two of criminal damage.
He made no application for bail and so has been remanded in custody to appear again before a District Court sitting in Nenagh next Monday (9th June).
45-year-old John Paul Lonergan with an address at 10 St Ailbe’s Drive, Tipperary Town was charged with three counts of burglary.
His application for bail was objected to by Gardai and refused by the court.
He’s also been remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison to appear again before the courts on Monday.
The third man arrested on Tuesday was released without charge but a file is being prepared for the DPP.
