Two North Tipp natives to be honoured at Dublin ceremony

Two North Tipp natives are to be honoured by the Tipperary Association in Dublin.

Chairman of Birdhill Tidy Village Committee Denis Floyd was chosen as the Association’s Tipperary Person of the Year.

He was one of the driving forces behind the village winning the accolade of Ireland’s tidiest town last year.

Meanwhile Denis Ryan of Newport and Halifax, Canada – a member of Ryan’s Fancy Folk Group – is to be inducted into the Association’s Hall of Fame.

The awards will be presented at a function in Dublin on February 23rd.
