Truck driver killed in Cahir crash

Investigations are continuing after a fatal crash near Cahir yesterday evening.

A 32 year old articulated lorry driver was killed when the vehicle he was driving struck an embankment before entering a field.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene – his body was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

It happened at about 6pm at Junction 10 on the M8 near Cahir.

The motorway was reduced to one lane for traffic travelling northbound but has since fully re-opened.
