New figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there are 459 people are waiting on a bed in emergency departments and overflow areas of wards.
St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny is said to be the most overcrowded – where 31 patients are recorded on trolleys.

South Tipp General has 22 while University Hospital Limerick has reported 27 people without a bed.
The numbers are down slightly on last week's high of 527 according to the INMO.
