€633 million in funding has been announced for the country’s national roads.
The N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction including the Tipperary Bypass is included.
This year’s allocation is a €92 million increase on the figure for 2024.
The funding aims to support the protection of the existing national road network, as well as allowing for the progression of new major projects in the development pipeline.
Among those are the Adare Bypass in County Limerick, the N6 Galway City Ring Road and the N4 Mullingar to Roosky route.
€33 million of the €633 million announced today will be provided to local authorities, for regular maintenance of their national roads.
Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien says the funding will improve regional connectivity and remove traffic from towns across the country.
