His Regional Independent Group is supporting the coalition.

Deputy Lowry says the County Council will be informed of the funding increase today.

“An allocation of €42 million is sanctioned for its 2025 Regional and Local Roads programme. This is an increase of over €6 million or 17% on last years allocation. During government formation talks I insisted on a substantial increase in this funding. I did so because many of our roads used by rural dwellers have deteriorated and are in need of restoration.”

Deputy Lowry says he has also secured funding for other works in the Premier County.

“Also included is a River Suir package of €500,000 – this money will be used to remediate bridges on the river route. I am currently in discussions with the department to get increased funding for private and public lanes under the LIS and CIS schemes.”
