Long awaited new bridge at Ballina/Killaloe to officially open next week

Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien will be on hand to cut the ribbon on the multi-million Euro crossing of the Shannon.

Local Labour TD Alan Kelly says the new bridge and road network will be a huge boost for both locals and visitors to the area alike.

“This will finish the project with the road going around the bypass in Killaloe and obviously the new road from Birdhill to Ballina as well.

“Its an incredible project that will transform North Tipperary, East Clare, Ballina, Killaloe and all the areas locally. It will be great for tourism, great economically and great socially as well.

“This has been needed for decades and something I have fought for all my political career and indeed when I was a Minister in 2015 I ensured this project commenced and was put on the Capital Plan.”

The official opening will take place on Thursday 22nd of May at 3pm.
