It's understood 17 admin staff which have been based in Carrick are to move to the banks centre of excellence in Kilkenny.

A spokesperson for Bank of Ireland has told Tipp FM News pointed out that no jobs are being lost and that they remain committed to Carrick on Suir and the transfer of staff will in no way impact on the local branch.

However local Councillor Pierce O'Loughlin sees it as yet another blow to the town.
