Two Tipperary projects are included in the first investment under Fáilte Ireland’s Private and Community SME Scheme.
The Premier County’s share of the €2.9 million fund comes to almost €350,000.
Nationally 17 projects have been announced as part of the EU Just Transition Fund programme.
In all 170 applications were received with Littleton based Councillor Sean Ryan saying the two Tipp beneficiaries will provide an enhanced visitor experience.
“A Category 1 project for bicycles to improve the visitor experience €47,000) and a Category 2 project under doing up outhouses for glamping and for self-catering accommodation.
“This is fantastic and when you consider that the Council at the moment are also – in conjunction with Just Transition – doing a feasibility study for the Visitor Experience on the Bord na Mona lands in Littleton.
“All these are very positive developments and shows that Tipperary is getting its fair share of Just Transition funding which is vital for this area.”
