Theresa May says she intends to form a government with the support of Northern Ireland’s DUP.
The UK Prime Minister visited Buckingham Palace this lunchtime to seek permission to form a government, despite losing her majority.
She says it will provide “certainty” and guide Britain through the Brexit negotiations.
However a Tipperary Sinn Féin County Councillor says a Tory Government backed by the Democratic Unionist Party will be of no benefit to Ireland.
Sinn Féin took 29% of the vote in the North giving them 7 seats.
Councillor David Doran hailed it as a fantastic result for the party.
