There are calls for a comprehensive strategy to be drawn up to tackle the visibility problems created by seriously overgrown hedges and trees along Tipperary's rural routes.

It follows concerns expressed by Councillors that some routes force drivers and even cyclists to the centre of particular roads, thus increasing the risk of a serious collision.
There are summer restrictions on trimming back hedgerow but Fine Gael Councillor Joe Brennan says several other factors are playing a part in overgrown road borders including a lack of funding available to the local authority.
