Controversial new proposals to try and alleviate chronic traffic congestion in Tipperary Town are set to be thrashed out today.
Ealier this year the local council drew up plans to construct a link road consisting of a new single carriageway between the Roundabout on the Limerick Road, N24 and the Emly Road.
It would also see a new traffic managment system in place in Tipperary town including one way systems, a roundabout, kerb build-outs, parking provision, pedestrian facilities and pavement rehabilitation.
However the plan has met with some opposition and tonight Councillors meet to consider the proposals.
Independent Local TD Mattie McGrath doesn't believe the route is the right option and would prefer a proper by-pass of Tipp Town.
