Tankerstown National School has received top honours in the Tipperary Tidy Schools Competition for the Clonmel/Cahir Borough District.

The awards aim to raise awareness on littering, waste management and appreciation of the general environment.

Grange National School and Colaiste Chluain Meala secured 2nd and 3rd spot in the awards while St Joseph's in Ferryhouse was named the best Secondary School.

The Best Energy Project went to Cloneen National School – while Ardfinnan National School and Scoil Mhuire in Newcastle also got special mentions.
