Beef farmers across the country have had their prices continuously cut by factories over the last 12 months with representative bodies saying that their livelihoods are in danger of being wiped out.
Minister Simon Coveney has set up a working group with farmers, factories and retailers to try solve the issues, but Junior Minister and Tipperary TD Tom Hayes says that there is an oversupply of beef in the market.

However, Independent TD Mattie McGrath refutes this and says that the current Government has failed farmers.
