Tipperary T.D’s asked for their stance on same sex marriage

Only 4 of Tipperary's 6 Dail Deputies would categorically state whether or not they support same sex marriage.

The issue has come under the spot light in recent weeks with a number of Government Minister stating publicly how they stand on the issue and Enda Kenny coming under fire for his refusal to do so.

Tipp FM news contacted all 6 Tipperary Dail Deputies and asked them for their position regarding same sex marriage.

Of the 6, 2 voiced their support, Labour's Alan Kelly in North Tipp and Independent Seamus Healy in the South.

2 voiced their opposition, Mattie McGrath and Tom Hayes in the South, both citing religion as their main reason, with Mattie McGrath also saying that he was concerned about a liberal agenda being pushed too far.

Michael Lowry said he wants to hear more debate on the issue before he makes a definitive decision and Noel Coonan failed to return our calls.
