A Tipperary T.D says it is inappropriate for Dr James Reilly to continue as Minister for Health.

South Tipp Independent Seamus Healy feels Dr Reilly's links to the Greenhill’s Nursing Home in Carrick on Suir mean he should not be in his current post as a Government Minister.

Deputy Healy says no minister should be in the position that his role as owner of private facilities or assets could put him in a position to benefit from Government decisions however inadvertently or unintentionally.

The Clonmel T.D points out that neither he nor anybody else has alleged that the Minister is using public policy for his own benefit.

However given Dr Reilly's links to a private nursing home Seamus Healy feels it is inappropriate that he should continue as Minister for Health.
