Tipperary T.D criticises “Septic Tank” registration scheme

The septic tank registration scheme is a con job according to an outspoken Tipperary T.D.

South Tipp Independent Mattie McGrath says people are sceptical about the scheme.

Only 6% of households across the country have availed of a reduced registration fee of €5 for those who signed up before September 28th instead of the regular €50.

The 2011 census shows there are nearly half a million septic tanks in the country – Deputy McGrath says the Government are merely trying to make extra revenue for local authorities.
