A man with an address in County Tipperary has pleaded guilty to trying to blackmail another man.
Shane Costello of Fernhill, Cullenagh, Ballina and formerly from Limerick City admitted in court yesterday to demanding money with menaces from a man identified only as Mister A.

Limerick Circuit Court heard that Costello threatened to spread false sex allegations against Mr. A unless he was paid €50,000.
The 33 year old also threatened to shoot Mr. A and kneecap him.
When Costello arrived at Mr A's house for the money Gardai were waiting for him.
A three year suspended sentence was imposed in court yesterday.
