Tipperary schools have missed out in the latest allocation of Special Needs Assistants.
Figures just published by the National Council for Special Education highlight the fact that no secondary schools in Tipperary have been allocated additional SNA posts whilst primary schools across the County have in fact lost out with a reduction in the number of posts originally allocated in June of this year.
103 further SNA posts have been made available but Tipperary has received none.
Deputy Michael Lowry has criticised the allocation saying that it's unbelievable that a County the size of Tipperary would receive no additional posts.
The Independent T.D for North Tipperary says these cuts will have a devastating impact on the pupils who were availing of this assistance and will have a huge impact on the classroom generally.
