Among them will be Minister of State Alan Kelly – the North Tipperary T.D will represent the country in Newark, New Jersey.

When the Fine Gael – Labour Government took in office two years ago – the Ministerial travel for St Patrick's Day was scaled back significantly – with just 8 Ministers and the Taoiseach taking part in March 17th festivities outside of Ireland.

Last year – the number increased to 16 Ministers and the Taoiseach.

This year – 19 Ministers and Junior Ministers and the Taoiseach will travel overseas for St Patrick's Day events in 21 countries – during which there will be 150 business events and 30 high level political meetings.
