A 48-hour protest outside beef factories is due to start on Sunday afternoon.
ABP plants in Cahir & Nenagh and the Ashbourne Meats facility in Roscrea were among 29 factories where farmers held a 24 hour protest late last month.
The IFA will hold a meeting with representatives of the meat industry tomorrow, to try and reach agreement over prices and beef specification issues.
The IFA's Eddie Downey says unless there is agreement, protests will be escalated.
“There has to be serious engagement by the industry – they've got to come forward, they've got to make movement on specific areas of specifications and price” he said.
“We've laid this down very clear all year – they had us in a position where we had too many cattle in the system where they had the advantage, they took advantage at that stage”.
“This has to be rowed back; the industry is now back in balance, the numbers are back in balance, and the specifications by which we trade our animals with this industry must be put right” he added.
