The High Court in Dublin was told that the extradition is being sought of Aidan O'Dwyer of Kilnamanagh Court, Clonoulty.

The 39 year old is alleged to have stolen nearly £4,500 along with 300 £1 scratch cards from his employer in East Sussex.

The theft charges date back to 2009.

Aidan O'Dwyer was arrested on Monday at his residence on foot of a European arrest warrant.

He was remanded in custody with consent to bail – the case will return to the High Court early next month.
