Karl Lydon of The Orchard, Friar Street, Thurles has pleaded guilty to stealing thousand of euro worth of goods from a number of vehicles in January.
The 24 year old Thurles man was arrested by Gardai in Ballybofey just hours after a series of robberies from cars on the 26th of January during which laptops, iPhones, personal diaries and social services cards were taken.
Among the other items also stolen were a USB dongle, architectural drawings, an AIB debit card, holy water, holy relics and prayerbooks.
At a subsequent hearing of Letterkenny District Court Karl Lydon pleaded guilty to the thefts – with the value of the goods estimated to be several thousand Euro
Judge Paul Kelly imposed a night time curfew on the Tipperary man, ordered him to sign on 3 times a week at Thurles Garda Station and banned him from entering Donegal again until his court appearance today.
The judge also agreed to allow Gardai to return all the stolen property to the owners.
