David Mooney from Borrisokane was a witness in a high profile trial against members of the Continuity IRA.

He claims that when he agreed to give evidence against William Clare and Martin Kelly in 2003 he was promised a new name, date of birth, PPS number, car and house.

The 43 year old also claims he was promised an income and a visa to the US.

He alleges none of the promises were fulfilled.

David Mooney is seeking damages against An Garda Siochana, Ireland and the Attorney General.

The State denies his claims.
