Tipperary homeowners to avoid first round of septic tank examinations

County Tipperary will escape the first round of septic tank inspections early next year.

It's reported today that homeowners in Laois, Cork, Galway, Wexford, Monaghan, Donegal and Louth will be among the first to be inspected.

The Government is said to be targeting tanks which are believed to pose a threat to water sources.

Concerns over pollution in the river Shannon apparently relate to upriver stretches more than to Lough Derg.
