Hundreds of Tipperary families could soon have third-level education put beyond their reach.

He was reacting to the news that the Government is pressing ahead with plans to include capital assets in means-testing for third level grants.
Councillor Hogan says the fairest way to assess eligibility is based on income and not on the notional value of productive assets.
Younger people from farming and self-employed backgrounds will be most affected by any change in the current system, according to Councillor Hogan.
