Primary school class sizes in County Tipperary were below the national average for the last school year.

The average number of pupils in a primary school class in Ireland for the 2011 – 2012 year was 24½.

However in North Tipperary the average was 23.62 with 23.7 in South Tipp.

Roscommon had the smallest classes with an average of less than 21½.

Fingal in County Dublin was the highest at almost 26½.
