Tipperary ASTI call for action from county’s Ministers

Tipperary's two Ministers are being urged to lobby the government to reingage with the ASTI as it prepares for industrial action.

The Secondary School Teachers Union has rejected the Haddington Road Agreement and from October2nd members will refuse to hold meetings outside school hours or attend training courses.

Sister Union the TUI – which has accepted the agreement – is now asking its members not to undertake any work normally done by the ASTI

ASTI Regional Representative and teacher at The Presentation in Ballingarry Aidan O'Leary says the county's Government TDs must intervene to prevent major disruption.
