Tipperary allocated just over 3% of new Special Needs teachers

County Tipperary fares poorly in the latest allocation of new special needs teachers.

Of 91 places announced yesterday, only 3 will be in Co. Tipperary.

Autism Spectrum Disorder teachers have been sanctioned for Killeen National School, Nenagh, St. Mary's C.B.S. Clonmel and Ardfinnan National School.

The National Council for Special Education  says class sizes range from six to eleven pupils.

There are now 640 classes in mainstream schools across the country for children with special needs.
