The chairperson of the Oireachtas Committee on the Eighth Amendment says she hopes two anti-abortion members don’t quit the body.
Yesterday, Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath and Galway Senator Ronan Mullen said they were considering their positions, claiming the process is ‘skewed in favour of abortion’.
They say around 20 pro-choice witnesses have had their say, but only a handful of anti abortion voices have been heard.
Committee chairperson Senator Catherine Noone is rejecting claims they’ve been treated unfairly, and wants to engage directly with them.
