An Post workers in Tipperary, at risk of losing their jobs before Christmas, will now be guaranteed work until at least the New Year.
Following a meeting of staff, management, and unions, An Post have agreed to postpone the planned lay off.
It was agreed that to remove 33 workers from their positions before Christmas was unrealistic and, as a number of existing staff have taken up the offer of voluntary redundancy, there may be the possibilty of some or all of the at-risk workers to keep their jobs.
