Tipperary drowning victim to be buried today

A young Tipperary boy who died in a boating accident in the US will be laid to rest later today.

Harry O’Connor lost his fight for life five days after being rescued from a capsized boat near Boston where his family has been living.

The 8 year old will be buried in his mother’s native Meath today.

Harry – who grew up in Clonmel – became trapped underneath a boat after it capsized while he was out with a group last week.

A diver managed to rescue Harry but he lost his fight for life in hospital at the weekend.

The family had lived at Poulnaganogue, Clonmel before moving to the US.

Harry’s father Paudie is a Multi Site Vice President of Manufacturing at Boston Scientific while his mother Laura Lenehan is from County Meath.

He will be laid to rest in Duleek today.
