Tipperary County Council seeking hike in commercial rates

A 5.5 percent hike in commercial rates in being proposed by Tipperary County Council.

Officials and Councillors are discussing the local authority’s Budget for 2025 at their annual statutory meeting in Clonmel.

The executive says that costs have gone up more than 20% over the past five years so they have to raise income or else they will have to cut services.

The meeting is ongoing as Councillors go over the fine details of next year’s budget.
