Plans to revamp Clonmel island

Ambitious plans for Suir Island in Clonmel will be put before the public next week.

The project would see the island transformed into a civic amenity right in the heart of the town.

One of the key pieces of the project would be a footbridge linking the island to the Quays.

Members of the Clonmel Borough District were this week briefed on the Master Plan compiled by locally based architect Ken Hennessy.

The public meeting will take place next Wednesday evening in the Main Guard in Clonmel at 6 o’clock.
